Hope you don't live in Florida

Right now in Riviera Beach, FL Mayor Micheal Brown has some pretty interesting plans for his town.
Up to 6,000 of Riviera Beach’s 31,000 residents would be sent packing in the city’s effort to revamp its marina district with condominiums, houses, shops, offices and yacht slips. To enraged owners of property slated for condemnation, Brown says the sacrifice is necessary for progress.

“(Italian philosopher Niccolo) Machiavelli said it best - the hardest thing to do is to sustain and change the order of things,” Brown says. “I will use every ounce of energy I have to fight to make a better life for these people. There will be no more lower class.

Whenever you see an elected official directly qoute Machiavelli you made a big mistake voting him into office.

Yes, Finally!

Thomas Barnett who wrote the Pentagons New Map and Blueprint for Action has had a blog for sometime now. I'm pretty excited because he has finally put comments on the site. Blogs like The Belmont Club Asymmetrical Information which I frequent are very well though out blogs. I like reading them because I know when I go onto the comments section there will other people who have and educated opinion. I don't know about the rest of you but Rush Limbaugh and Air America don't really do much for me. They are both radio programming with hard core Leftist and Right-Wingers fixing both shows to make themselves look as right as possible. It goes back to one of the reasons why computers and the internet are becoming such a prevalent media. You can talk back to the person who starts the topic. I can't tell you the number of times people get hung up on or dismissed or talked over by the pompous windbags of political radio. They may excuse it by saying it's their show or time restrictions but they just don't want get proven wrong by any Joe Schmoe. I would much rather they let other people talk rather than prove how smart they are. That's where the blogs come into play. I can go on site like The Belmont Club or Asymmetrical Information and speak my piece about the topics of the day. There will others there who will embrace my part I the debate and respond to my thoughts.
My only complaint of is that Glenn Reynolds needs to put comments on his site. He does seem to be doing better than Air America though. I wonder when Rush and Sean Hannity will start to feel the pinch.

Updadte: I almost forgot. The other great site I forgot to mention is Common Sense and Wonder. The first blog I ever went to. Check it out.

Web Comics and such.

Right now my brothers and are have been really into web comics. We just can't seem to get enough of them. Penny Arcade is a paticular favorite of mine and I don't even play video games. There is also Overcompensating by Jeffery Rowland. I don't where this guy comes up with this stuff.
My brother actually wants to start his own he can't draw worth a damn. If he could find an artist I might actually consider saying it's a good idea. In the meantime I have been thinking about a vlog idea I read recently.

Where is the Bunny?

I went to the google homepage today and they have done nothing to change their logo. What gives? They do it for all the other holidays out there. They even do it on the birthday of historical figures. I talked with my younger bro about this and he says he remembers them doing something last year. What's going on? Is this them responding to religious sensitivity or part of the continuing secularization of our country? Is this all happening because they just plain forgot and someone were all asleep at the wheel? I'd like to know I find this very curious.

Yes, we living in the 21st century.

Want to be a doctor or a midwife? You might practice delivering babies with a robot.
The full-sized, blond, pale mannequin is in demand because medicine is rapidly abandoning centuries-old training methods that use patients as guinea pigs, turning instead to high-tech simulations. It's better to make a mistake on a $20,000 robot than a live patient.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs!

I went to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Riviera. It was better than Mathisyahu and you have the vivacious Karen O to look at. They played a lot of new music from their new album Show me your Bones. This month they are on the cover of Spin magazine as well. My only complaint is some chick spilled half a beer on my back. Another girl almost fell on my head when she was crowd surfing but caught her just in time. Anyone else go to this concert?

Just in time for Easter!

Tell your kids that if you misbehave the Easter Bunny will come after you. This is the proof.

You! READ THIS BOOK!

Maddox is finally coming out with his own book soon. This will help give anyone who has been jonesing for a new book from the internet. Penny Arcade fans have had there fix for since January. Glenn Reynolds put out his intellectual Army of Davids last month and it’s been the rave of the reading lists. Hugh Hewitt has his right wing political book out around the same amount of time. Finally there's Markos Zuniga who has a book which I plan on getting soon. (as soon as I'm done with about fifty other books first) Anyway it’s been a pretty good year for internet books so far, I hope people notice.
